Obituary of Annie Robertson Cobb
Annie Robertson Cobb passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023, in her home in Columbia, SC. Annie was married to her late husband, Command Sgt. Major David Taylor Cobb for 66 years. Annie left behind four children, David M. Cobb (Marsha), Charles A. Cobb (Vicki), Loretta A. Cobb (Cheryl), and Christina C. Hunter (Michael); 9 grandchildren, Angie Herd (Ron), Michael Cobb, Christie Jameson (John), Donya Cobb (Adam), Charles Cobb (Lindsay), Amanda Cobb, Joshua Hunter (Megan), Brandon Hunter (Angie), Sierra Hunter; 15 great-grandchildren, Erin Fiesel, Kerri Fiesel (Christopher), Aidan Cooper (Saquoia), Dylan Herd, Cooper Jameson, Everette Jameson, Camden Herd, Emmie Jameson, Levi Cobb, Emmett Cobb, Mathies Hunter, Mikael Llamas-Hunter, Luke Cobb, Nikolas Llamas-Hunter and Claire Cobb; and 3 great-great-grandchildren, CJ Ratliff, Jackson Pylant and Emma Floyd.
Annie was a devoted military wife and loving mother. In her younger years she was an avid softball player and loved to bowl. In 1998, on Valentine’s Day, David gifted Annie with her very own restaurant, Ann’s Café, in The Barnyard Flea Market. Together they thoroughly enjoyed serving the community and their church home-cooked meals. Annie’s grandchildren meant the world to her. She and David were very giving, especially when it came to their family. Annie’s love went far. She loved the Lord, her husband, children, grandchildren, and especially Elvis Presley!
After David passed, she became even closer to her best friends, Mary Butler and Linda Cornell. They frequently visited their favorite restaurants where they would fellowship and even bond with the wait staff. Their adventures included shopping sprees at Hamrick’s and lottery tickets while always followed by a meal.
The family would like to thank Agape Care, especially, her loving and devoted CNA, Susan Shanks. As well as her RN, Ebony Glover who is committed to providing the best quality care. Ms. Annie received wonderful care from many other nurses and caregivers including Always Care. Annie’s daughter, Loretta and her partner Cheryl gave her the best care anyone could ask for.
