Obituary of Margie Stack

Margie Lucas Stack, 82, of Cayce, passed away with family by her side on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. Born in Richland County on September 20, 1941, was the daughter of the late Vernell Whetstone and Roy Lucas. 

A faithful member of Dunn’s Chapel Church, Margie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, the late Irvin F. Stack, Sr., and sister Carolyn Hancock. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Stack Spires (Johnny) of West Columbia; son, Irvin F. Stack, Jr. (Leila) of Lugoff; and daughter, Deborah Stack Prince (Billy) of West Columbia; brother, Jimmy Lucas, Sr. (Maxine) of Hubert, NC; brother, Wade Lucas (Murleen) of Okatie; sister, Shirley Senterfeit of South Congaree; eight grandchildren, Amanda Huff, Colby Spires, Madison Tudor, Kendall, Hunter, and Brennan Prince, Brittany Terry, and Timothy Higgins. She is also survived by a large and loving extended family. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Rd.  Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Dunn’s Chapel Church, 281 Chapel Road, West Columbia. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. Pastor Gerald Watford will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be the Friendship Sunday School class. 

The family would like to offer special thanks for the loving care provided by the staff of Lexington Community Hospice House - Agape Care.
