Obituary of Louise Felder

Louise Felder, 84, of Lexington, South Carolina entered into God's Kingdom on Tuesday May 30th, 2023.

Louise was born January 23rd, 1939 in Pelion, South Carolina, to Cleo and Viola (Hutto) Spradley.

She was a devoted mother to the five children she shared with her beloved husband, Rice Felder, of Columbia, SC. In addition to raising her own children, she influenced the young lives of countless others as a babysitter and Sunday School teacher. Louise was a proud and faithful member of West Columbia First Church of the Nazarene, where she served as the Missions president and a member of the Church Board. Her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, never wavered.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four brothers and six sisters.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters Theresa Felder and Francine Felder; sons Steve Felder, Rev. Tom (Marla) Felder and Alex (Jane) Felder; grandchildren Ben (Lori) Felder and Megan (Michael) Lynes; great-grandchildren Satchel Felder and Lincoln Lynes; sisters Carolyn Powell (Eddie) and Barbara Thompson (Rev. Tommy Thompson).

The family wishes to express our deepest gratitude to the entire staff at LMC Extended Care for treating our mother with dignity, respect, love and compassion. For almost twelve years, Louise fought back against her dementia with every ounce of strength she had. You fought with her. You also extended that same love and compassion to our family, and for that we are eternally grateful.

A memorial service will be held at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Road in Lexington, on Saturday, June 3rd at 12:00 PM. A private burial will take place following the service.
