Obituary of Nell Simpson Seel

Nell Simpson Seel, 71, of Columbia, passed away on December 16. 2022. She was born on July 6, 1951, to the late Lloyd Calvin Simpson Sr. and  Lila Elma Foxworth-Simpson. Nell was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a postal service worker for the USPS for over 40 years. She was an avid animal lover and took pride in helping the animals in need. She also had an extremely giving heart and would make sure those she loved were always taken care of in their times of need. Nell enjoyed all of her friendships and touched the lives of many people during her lifetime. She was a Godly woman, and her deep faith grounded her daily walk with the lord. 

Nell is predeceased by her husband and high school sweetheart of 46 years, Richard D. Seel III and her younger brother, Lloyd Calvin Simpson Jr. Nell is survived by her siblings, Robert “Bobby” Edward Simpson, Sandra “Sandy” Kay Corder, and Randolph “Randy” Kent Simpson (Denise); daughter, Michelle Seel Watkins (Carl); son, Richard D. Seel IV (Melissa); granddaughters, Kierstan Watkins, Katherine “Laken” Watkins, Kimberly Watkins, and Karlie Watkins; great-grandson, Kieran “Landon” Dale; and several nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington on Thursday, December 22, 2022, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington on Friday, December 23, 2022, at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Woodridge Memorial Park.

The family will be receiving friends at the home of Carl and Michelle Watkins, 228 Talon Way, Blythewood, SC 29016.
