Obituary of Jean G. Heckle

Jean G. Heckle, 73, passed away on December 10, 2022. She was born on September 14, 1949 to the Late Leroy and Evelyn Bates, in West Columbia, SC.

She was a graduate of Brookland Cayce High School and was employed at Epworth Children’s Home, where she had many friends that she loved like family.

Jean lived in the West Columbia area for the majority of her life, where she loved spending time with her dog Bella.

She is survived by her three children, Lisa Palmer (Steve), Kimberly Sharpe (Steven), Michael Glenn (Lisa); sister’s, Judy Hilderbrand and Margaret Gladden; her grandchildren, Kylie, Dalton, Haley and Courtney; great granddaughter, Sophia; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jean was predeceased by her husband, Julius Heckle III; her parents; a sister, Linda Chavis; and brother, Glenn Bates.

A Memorial Service Celebrating Jean’s Life will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 12:00 pm. at Congaree Baptist Church, 101 Pine Ridge Drive, West Columbia, SC 29172.
