Obituary of Louis Stanford Middleton

Louis Stanford “Pete” Middleton, Jr. passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, September 16, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on October 1, 1942 in Columbia, SC. He was the son of the late L.S. “Pete”, Sr. and Marjorie Middleton. He graduated from Dreher High School in Columbia, SC and enlisted into the U. S. Navy in 1960. He served his six years proudly on active duty and the reserves. He was a master mason of Gaston Lodge #382 A.F.M. Scottish Rite 32 degree.

Mr. Middleton is survived by his wife of 50 years, Brenda, and seven children: Pete III, Denise Hudson, Mark (Teresa), Michael (Amy), Scott Hudson (Robin), Sheryll and Chris (Marie); grandchildren, Jack Coleman (Katie), Shawna, Trista, Jason, Justin, Halston Banks (Bianca), Tommy Coleman (Brian), Jenna Lohr (Brandon), Scott Hudson, Jr., Danielle, Nathan, Nicole Mack, Emily Lucas, Luke Lucas, Mykel, and CJ; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Joy M. Bruner; brother, William Herbert “Bill” Middleton (Deborah), along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by grandchild, Randy Hudson.

Mr. Middleton’s celebration of life will be held at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery at 3:00 PM on Friday, October 7, 2022. In lieu of flowers, the Middleton family requests donations be made in Mr. Middleton’s name at Mt.
