Obituary of Barbara Bashore

Barbara Bashore, 82, of West Columbia, South Carolina passed away Monday, September 19, 2022 at Lexington Medical Center. She was born on July 1, 1940, in Edgefield, South Carolina to John L. West and Alma (Coursey) West.

Barbara was a very dedicated member of Taylor Street Baptist Church, holding the position as Treasurer for the past 20+ years.  She loved her church and church family.  She retired from JMT Associates.  Loving her family and spoiling her family was on the top of her list of things to do.  Her family never had any doubt about her love for them.  Her love never waivered when it came to family.  She was a NASCAR fan and loved Chase Elliott.  She was also an avid Carolina Gamecocks fan.  If the Gamecocks were playing she was watching.

Barbara is survived by Donald (Don) Bashore, her loving husband of 62 years and her sons; Donny Bashore (Beth) and Jason Bashore; her two grandchildren, Stefanie Hicks (Matthew) and Dustin Bashore; her three great grandchildren, Hailey Hicks, Emma Hicks, and Knox Bashore; her cherished cousin, Pollie Buff;  her special niece, who is like a daughter to her, Crissie Keisler (Kenny) and children: J.T., Maddie and Colt Keisler.  She was preceded in death by her father, Lowell West; mother, Alma West; and brothers, Flynn West and Jimmy West.     

The family would like to thank Lexington Medical Center, 8th floor Oncology for taking the utmost care of her during her recent illness.  The family would also like to thank her caretaker, Anne Barfield, for caring for her during the past few months.                                

The family will receive friends at Taylor Street Baptist Church on Friday, September 23rd from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.  Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dan Rabon and Rev. Sherwood Tidwell officiating.  Interment will be at Celestial Memorial Gardens.
