To the family of Dr. Shull, our prayers are with you in the passing of This great Man of God. He was a great friend and mentor to me and so many other ministers. We always enjoyed his preaching and friendship with all our members at Sardis. I pray that God will give you strength, and he will keep you all in his care. One day we will meet again in Heaven, and I know he is happy there now God bless you and comfort you .

Lonnie and Hazel Shull--a very special team of God's ministers and friends to many. As a member of West Columbia First, we followed Lonnie as he ministered to us and the total community, where he served. Many fond memories and many thanks for his ministry to our families through the years. Hazel and sons, you have been so faithful in your love and support. Blessing upon you as you carry on.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family! Lonnie shall Jr graduated high school together her name was Cora Lee Fallaw. She later married and brought my brother and I to Northside Baptist while my father was in Vietnam. Floyd and Edna Busbee were my aunt and uncle. We loved the pastor and his family. I truly loved his voice both preaching and singing.

I first met Lonnie in 1953 when I came to Columbia to attend USC. After meeting him I began to play the piano for the
Harmony Boys, a gospel quartet. Lonnie was the bass singer and MC for the quartet. When WIS TV signed on the air for the first time we were on that variety show that night of November 1953. Later we moved to WNOK TV with our own show every Thursday night at 7:30, prime time and stayed there for 3 years. We did concerts all over the southeast, sang at many churches. Lonnie was my best friend while we were at USC.

Pastor Shull was one of the finest Pastors I have ever known. When he was at Fairview he was a rock for me and my Husband Ricky. I could call him anytime me or Ricky was sick or just needed to talk and he would be right over. We loved him with all our hearts. I am so sorry for your loss, this is a loss for anyone that knew this Godly Man. When he left Fairview it was never the same for us. Our hearts are breaking for your Family. Not only was he a wonderful pastor but had a singing voice of an Angel. And he loved people and always made time for his members at Fairview. We know he is setting to the side of the Lord. He will be missed. Ricky & Lisa Roberts

Rev Shull, Pastor Shull or to many of us, Lonnie, will be remembered and appreciated for many, many years to come. First all for us, his love and compassion, his friendship and his convictions. To God, the love and dedication to His son, Christ Jesus.
What a celebration there will be in heaven!!!
Thank you, Lonnie, for all you taught me.

He was truly a remarkable man. Dr. Shull, Reverend Shull, Pastor Shull are all deserving titles, but to the kids at Northside Baptist he was Mr. Shull. The reason for this simple term of endearment is that he was so relatable to us as young people. He cared about us. He asked us about what was going on in our lives. He was genuine and never too busy to talk, even though he was actually very busy. I have many memories of Mr. Shull, but one of my favorites was his leading early morning devotions at Camp York, our church camp. He taught us about how much God loves us and how we are to love others. In one devotion, we talked about the cicadas we heard each night at camp. He related the shedding of their exoskeletons and becoming something new to new Christians shedding their old life and finding a new one as a child of God. That devotion touched me as did many of the lessons and sermons throughout the years. I'll never forget him, and when I think of a faithful servant he's the first to come to mind.

I am so sorry to hear of the death of Pastor Shull. He was my pastor during my formative years - kindergarten through high school.
He was so kind & funny. I remember him singing The King is Coming & How Great Thou Art (as well as many other songs. It was always a joy to hear him sing.
I know as he stepped into the gates of Heaven he heard, "Well done, My good & faithful servant."
