Obituary of Vicky "Nana" P. Howell

Vicky “Nana” P. Howell, 77, of Irmo, SC, passed away June 10th, 2022. Vicky was born to John B. and Marie May Nichols on July, 21st, 1944 in Columbia, SC. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mike Howell, and her brothers, Donny C. Nichols and Jimmy L. Nichols and granddaughter, Ruth Anne Howell.

Vicky is survived by her sons, Todd (Elizabeth) Howell and Michael Howell; her daughter, Tammy (Robel “Rob”) Ramirez; her grandchildren, Charlie Howell, Sophia and Lyla Ramirez, her brother, Ronny Nichols, and her sister, Bonnie Burgess along with many nieces and nephews.

Vicky Howell was a member of First Baptist Church in Columbia where she was a member of the choir. Vicky made her career at the University of South Carolina as an administrative assistant for University 101 and was an avid lifelong Gamecock fan. Vicky loved being outdoors sipping on a cup of coffee on a screened in porch and loved her 4 legged companion, Molly. She was extremely family oriented and loved to spend time with all of her grandchildren, they were the apples of her eyes and if they couldn’t get something at home, they got it at Nana’s! Vicky will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends and her wish would be for everyone to “Be Happy”.

A memorial service for Vicky will be at First Baptist Church in Columbia, SC on Thursday, June 23rd, 2022 at 3:00 with visitation to follow after the service. A private family burial will be planned at a later date.
