Obituary of David Samuel Martin, Sr.

David Samuel Martin, Sr, 72, of West Columbia, widower of Angie Martin, passed away on July 5, 2021. 

Born November 2, 1948 in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Ben and Lucille Stone Martin. David enlisted in the US Army at an early age and was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed with the Honeywell Corporation until his retirement. David was an avid Gamecock Sports supporter. He loved and attended football, baseball and basketball games.  

David is survived by a son, David, Jr and his loving wife Leslie of West Columbia and a sweet grandson, Joel Davis. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, July 9^th at Thompson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 to 2:30 PM prior to the service.
