Obituary of Vernelle Wise Cannon

Vernelle Wise Cannon, 95, of West Columbia, South Carolina,  passed away peacefully as she went to her new home in heaven, June 25, 2021. She was born on June 18, 1926  in Columbia, South Carolina, and grew up in Swansea.

Vernelle was preceded in death by her parents, Beauregard and Anna (Kaminer) Jumper; her husband, William Davis Wise; and her second husband, Lindy Cannon; her son, William Wise;  her sister, Mildred Heckle; brother, John Jumper; and son-in-law, Jack Parker, Sr.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda Parker, Sandra Hunter (Mark) and Tammy Lucas  (John); grandchildren, Brett Parker, Tonya Wise, Jason Hunter (Catherine), Jill Hunter (Ty), John Lucas, III, and Kristin Lucas; and great grandchildren, Brooke and Zack Parker.  Also surviving are her sister, Lois Inabinet; and brother, B.R. Jumper.

Vernelle was a member of State Street Baptist Church, Cayce, SC.  She was retired as a Librarian Secretary at Airport High School, Lexington School District Two.  She was most happy when working in her beautiful yard, enjoying her many flowers and bird watching.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Calvary Methodist Church Cemetery, Swansea, SC.  Pallbearers will be Mark Hunter, J.E. Lucas, David Cannon, Bryan Jumper, Jason Hunter, John Lucas, III and Zack Parker.
