Obituary of Jean King Davis

Jean King Foster Davis, 84, of Columbia South Carolina passed away at her home June 1, 2021.  She was born in Columbia to the late Belton D. and Ruby E. (Boozer) King.  She attended Dreher High School,   always looking forward to being with her friends at the Dreher Supper Club.  Jean loved listening to music, especially beach music.  She was a smooth shagger and friends called her “Jean, Jean, the dancing machine”.  She loved to travel and the beach truly was her Happy Place.  The Annual Boozer Family Reunion held every July was so special to her and her entire family.

Jean is the mother of three daughters Pamela Foster of Surfside Beach SC., Reba Foster Singley of Chapin SC., and Robin Foster Masker of Lexington SC., one son Skip (Milli) Davis of Charleston SC., and one sister Sylvia (Jim) Ellisor of Columbia SC.  Jean is also survived by her grandchildren Donald Scott Singley, Caitlyn Masker, Chandler Davis, and Alleigh Grace Davis, and two great grandchildren Brooklin Gardner and Colton Scott Singley.  She was preceded in death by her first husband Captain Donald Franklin Foster in 1967.

The daughters would like to thank family members and the many, many friends for their prayers, meals, cards, offers, support and love.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to SCOA, Wake Forest, Gibbs Cancer Center, Right at Home, Heart of Hospice, and to all the doctors, nurses, and staff members who treated her.

A private committal service will be held at Greenlawn.  Details for the Celebration of Life have not been finalized.

Arrangements for Jean are being handled by Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
