Obituary of Thomas Edward Hornsby

Thomas Edward Hornsby, 86, of Lexington, SC, passed away on June 3, 2021, at the Columbia Presbyterian Community. Tom was the son of the late John W. and Eloise Best Hornsby of Lexington.

Tom was a graduate of University High School and retired from Southern Bell with 30 years of service. He was a member of Brookland United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his brother, Richard I. Hornsby, Sr. (Marilyn Hedgepath) of Lexington; nephews, John Hornsby III (Laura) of Charleston, Danny Hornsby (Amy) of Columbia, Richey Hornsby (Jennifer) of Pomaria, and Matthew Hornsby (Kristi) of West Columbia. He is also survived by great nieces, Carolyne, Leah and Erin; and great nephews, Zach, MJ, Luke and Jack. Tom was preceded in death by his brothers, John W. Hornsby and Robert E. Hornsby; sisters-in-law, Evelyn of Columbia and Eleanor of Garden City; and nephew, Robert E. Hornsby of Garden City.

A Graveside Service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 1:00pm. Visitation will be held after the service at Brookland United Methodist Church, 541 Meeting Street, West Columbia, SC at 3:00pm.
