Obituary of Virginia Cecelia King

Virginia Cecelia King, 94, of Lexington, SC, passed away April 9, 2021. She was born on May 8, 1926 in Wichita, KS to the late Charles Dougherty and Cecelia Sponsel Dougherty. Virginia was predeceased by her son, Bill King.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Virgil O. King; son, David King; and daughters, Marsha Costelow (Joseph), Barbara Allen (Virgil) and Joan Cash (Donald). She is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She was a secretary for many years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all.

A Mass will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 11:00am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, where she was a long-time member, with burial to follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
