Obituary of Alice Ferrell Ansell

Alice Ferrell Ansell, 77, of Columbia, passed away on February 14, 2021. Born on October 10, 1943, she will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister and friend, who loved her animals and other’s as well.

She began her career working with Eastern Airlines in Charlotte, NC. She later moved to Nashua, NH, where she worked as a travel agent and learned to ski, which she enjoyed immensely. Alice later moved to South Bend, IN, where she worked with a Superior Court Judge and attended Indiana University, concentrating on the laws of real restate; then to Lakeland, FL, where she also attended classes in real estate law and became a broker. In 1979, she came back to her roots in Columbia, worked for Nexsen Pruet Jacobs and Pollard Law Firm, in charge of their commercial title insurance department. In 2002, her choice for the remainder of her career was with Fidelity National Title Insurance, where she retired from on December 31, 2018.

Alice was preceded in death by her father, Rupert (Bud) V. Ferrell; mother, Emma W. Ferrell; brother, Heyward L. Ferrell; and sister, Patricia F. Ferrell. She is survived by her brother, Robert V. Ferrell of Lexington; Summer, her beloved pet; sister-in-laws, Elaine and Mary Lou Ferrell; and many friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 11:00am at State Street Baptist Church, 1420 State Street, Cayce, SC. Visitation will begin at 10:00am at State Street Baptist. Burial will be at Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 W. Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC immediately following the funeral service.
