Obituary of James Edward "Ed" Chambers

James Edward “Ed” Chambers Jr., 70, of Cayce, husband of Connie Lambert Chambers passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021. He was born on December 7, 1950 in Rock Hill SC to the late James Edward Chambers Sr. and Betty Neely Chambers. Ed worked for PMSC, TM Floyd, and retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Chambers Taylor (Tripp); one son, Christian Patrick Chambers (Laura); two sisters, Betsy Chambers Curley (Doug) and Nancy Chambers Brown; and two grandchildren, Jackson and Taylor Chambers. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, Edward Stacy and Odette Mitchell Chambers, James Osborne and Edna Adams Neely; and one sister, Stacey Pittman.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 6PM until 8PM at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Graveside services will be held 2PM Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Beth Shiloh Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 1184 N. Shiloh Road York, SC 29584. Memorials may be made to the Dickerson Children’s Advocacy Center and Agape Hospice.

The family wishes to thank Opus Post Acute Nursing Home and Agape Hospice for their wonderful care and the Cayce Fire Department who were always available to assist during the early stages of Ed’s illness.
