Obituary of Thomas Marshall McCoy

Thomas Marshall McCoy was born  in Easley S.C. on November 28, 1929  to Broadus Lee McCoy and Myrtle Chapman McCoy. Thomas was a Veteran and served in the Navy and Air Force. After retiring from active service, he worked for the Forestry Service and at Fort Jackson. He later obtained his degree in mathematics and traffic control from Columbia Junior college, where he later taught book keeping.

 

Mr. McCoy is survived by his son's, Thomas M. McCoy, Jr. (Diane), Terry M. McCoy, grandchildren; Andrea Hunter, Edwin T. McCoy, Roxie Amanda Furniss; great grandchildren; Tyler Hunter, Garrett Hunter, Bradley Hunter, Nicolas Furniss, Bliss Furniss, Sophia Furniss, and Greyson Kelly.

 

He was predeceased by his wife (Grace) of 62 years of marriage, his parents; Broadus and Myrtle McCoy brothers; Joe Earl, John Wilton, Charles, and Donnie McCoy of Easley SC and a half brother, Fred Lindsay of Atlanta, Georgia.

 

Mr. McCoy loved his family with a passion. His wife was the light of his life. He had a passion to sing for Jesus. His love for Jesus and his faith was unwavering.  His last days were spent surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He is now at home and walking on streets of gold with Jesus and his love ones gone on before him.

 

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 2pm in the chapel at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Serenity Gardens.
