Obituary of Edmund Gunter

Mr. Edmund Gunter, 99, went home to be with The Lord on Saturday, August 8, 2020.

Mr. Gunter was born in Aiken County and was the son of the late Stancil and Lillie Blackwell Gunter. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bennie Gunter, and sisters Eva Yonce, Thelma Flake, Geneva Light and Reba Shumpert. He was a member of Hidden Valley Baptist Church.

Mr. Gunter is survived by his wife, Roddey Gunter; children Mildred Vonescher and Maidelene Carter (Jerry); four grandsons: James Knight (Gail), Jeffrey Knight (Crystal), Chance Carter (Kimberly), and Lance Carter; and sister Ernestine Williamson. He has three great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

There will be no formal visitation but you may pay your respects at Thompson Funeral Home Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington. There will be graveside services only on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 10:00am at Southland Memorial Gardens on West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC.
