Obituary of Ethlene P. Hallman

A graveside service for Ethlene P Hallman, 99, will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 27, 2020, in Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am. 

Mrs. Hallman died peacefully on Tuesday, June 23, 2020. Born in Beech Island, SC, she was a daughter of the late Henry Counts Priester and Carrie Elizabeth Deer Priester. Mrs. Hallman previously was a resident of Summerville, SC, and moved to Hulon Green in Lexington, SC in the early 1990's. She was a registered nurse who completed her training at the South Carolina State Hospital in Columbia, SC. During World War II, Mrs. Hallman served  as a registered nurse in the U.S. Army Air Corps in Coral Gables, Florida. Following the war, she worked in the private practice of Dr. Guy Taylor in North Charleston, SC, and later served as the staff nurse for the faculty and students at MUSC in Charleston, SC.

Surviving are maternal nieces, Marie D. Brant and Diane D. Freeman; maternal nephew, Dwight A. Deer (Karen); and numerous paternal nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hallman was predeceased in death by her husband, W. Ray Hallman; and sisters, Sally P. Smith and Elizabeth P. Deer.
