Obituary of Mozelle Neeley Cooper

Mozelle Neeley Cooper, 95, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away on March 20, 2020. She was born on March 17, 1925 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Alfred Lester and Mary Madeliene (Barton) Neeley. Mozelle was married to the late George Franklin Cooper, Sr. for 67 years.  She was a member of Central Church of the Nazarene for over 70 years, serving as a children’s Sunday School teacher for over 45 years. Mozelle had a special love for Nazarene missions. She rolled many bandages and sent many care packages to missionaries through the years. She taught her children to love God.

Ms. Cooper is survived by her children, William Cooper (Donna), Bonnie Boswell (Paul), Frank Cooper, and Tammy Mabe (Jim). She is also survived by ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by a daughter, Georgia Rector, two sisters, and two brothers. 

The family would like to thank the kind and loving staff at Morningside of Lexington where she lived for the last six years, and every volunteer who came through the door to brighten the lives of the residents there. Also special thanks to her caregivers from Halcyon Hospice for their care for last seven months. May you all be blessed as you have been a blessing.

In light of current circumstances all funeral arrangements will be private.
