Obituary of Chimer Dale Whalen

Chimer Dale Whalen, 58, of Gaston, husband of Janet Rash passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020.  He was born on September 26, 1961 in Wythville, Virginia to the late Rex Patrick Whalen and Jean Allen Whalen.  He was a journeyman lineman and a member of the IBEW, Local 70.

In addition to his wife of 29 years, he is survived by a son, Justin Dale Whalen (Monica); two sisters, Lesa Whalen, Tammy Oaks (Wade); four brothers, Tim Whalen (Connie), Ricky Whalen (Teresa), Lewis Whalen (Connie), Tracy Rash; sister-in-law Sandra Horton; five grandchildren, Amerie, McKenzie, Rex Whalen, Audriana, Tony Rash; one great grandson, Brody Rash; special niece Tammy Rash; special nephew Daniel Rash and special Aunt Bonnie Rash.

A memorial service will be held 7:00 PM Thursday January 16, 2020 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington.
