Obituary of Marie West Corbett

Marie West Corbett, 89, of Columbia, SC passed away November 17, 2019. She was born in Springfield, SC on August 5, 1930 to the late Wilbert Earl West and Daisy Irene Bessinger West.  After the completion of high school, she graduated from Columbia Commercial College. Marie was married to Wyatt A. Corbett for 23 years until his death. She retired in 1992 with The State of South Carolina after working with several agencies. She was a long time member of Kilbourne Park Baptist Church. She was always willing to help others.

She is survived by two sisters, Erlene West and Estelle Wallace and a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Martin and Evelyn Whetstone.

The family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Kilbourne Baptist Church, 4205 Kilbourne Rd, Columbia, SC 29206. A funeral service will follow in the sanctuary at 2 pm. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
