Obituary of Joyce Louise Hall Furtick

Joyce Louise Hall Furtick, 74, of West Columbia, South Carolina, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2019.

 

Born July 11, 1945 in Columbia, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Adrestus Bryan and Madeline Louise Williams Hall.

 

Joyce was the beloved wife of David W. Furtick; devoted mother of Shannon S. McVey and Tiffany W. Ryan; and the amazing grandmother of Dylan Y., Tyler A. and the late McKenzie Miller, Payton McVey and Ethan A. (Xander) Revis.

 

She is survived by siblings, Shelby J. Price and Jeanette Crumpton; and was predeceased by her sisters, Linda Day and Betty Jo Jones; as well as her brother, Alexis B. (Buddy) Hall.

 

Joyce was a fun-loving, full-of-life woman – laughter and love of her family were her driving forces. She had such a giving, caring heart that she would always help anyone in need. She was passionate about her hobbies of crafting, gardening, thrifting, painting and dancing and was known to express her mind when needed.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 1, 2019, at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, South Carolina. The Rev. Brett DeYoung will officiate. Family will receive friends immediately after the service.
