Obituary of Herman O. Berry

Herman O. Berry, 94, of Columbia South Carolina, passed away July 28, 2019 at Hospice House in Greenwood, South Carolina. He was born on December 10, 1924 in Silver Street, South Carolina to Lena Belle Blaire Berry and Charlie Berry.  Herman retired from the United States Army where he served as an M.P. and Drill Sergeant for over 20 years. 

Herman is survived his daughter, Jane Gray; step daughter, Karole Jensen; brother, Robert Berry;  grandchildren: Jason, Shawn, Mathew Smetana, Karolyan Ohanafian, Paul Furr; and 11 great grandchildren.

Herman was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

A committal service with full military honors will be held at Serenity Gardens at Greenlawn Memorial Park at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2019.  Following the committal a gathering for family and friends in Herman's honor will take place from 10 a.m. until his funeral celebration at 11a.m. all at Bethel Methodist Church, 4600 Daniel Dr., Columbia, 29206 on Tuesday, August 6, 2019.
