To the Harrell Family:
I am so saddened by the news of Lee's passing. I worked with Lee for many years at Richland County. He always went above and beyond to help my office with mapping issues. Lee was such a valuable asset to all of Richland County! May God bless and keep you.

To Lee’s family, I was just shocked to see this in the paper. I miss talking with Lee since his retirement. He was always so helpful to me as I have been a real estate paralegal in Columbia for 35 years...I am so very sorry for your loss. He was such a fine individual. You are in my thoughts and prayers at this time. Mary Ellen McCain

In my capacity with the State Geodetic Survey, I had the great pleasure of working with "Lee" on several mapping-related projects throughout the years. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable about property mapping, but he was always a true gentleman. My sincere condolences to the Harrell Family.

Dear Caroline & Chris -
Your father's loyalty and dedication to the Richland County Assessor's office was beyond reproach. He dutifully came to work and ensured his department functioned without a hitch for almost 40 years. What a testament to the man he was.
While he dedicated himself the Assessor's office and his staff for 39 years, please know that each of you were the most important part of his life. We all knew his love for each of you and his want for each of you to thrive was boundless.
Your father was well respected not only in the Richland County Assessor's office, as well as the entire Richland County Government for his knowledge, loyalty and ability to lead, but in the field of his profession of land records management, which included surveyors, attorneys and developers.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Liz McDonald - Richland County Assessor's Office
