Obituary of Sumter Marion Robbins

Sumter Marion Robbins, Jr. was born on Aug. 7th, 1945. He was a graduate of Olympia High School in 1964. He retired from the U.S. Army on December 1, 1987, and shortly thereafter worked for South Carolina Dept. of Mental Health for 12 years. He was a member of the VFW Post 641. He passed away on February 27, 2019

Sumter is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Robbins Jordan; his son, Brian Robbins (Jamie); sisters, Susan Caton and Sandra Surerus; 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; and the love of his life, Diane Freeman.

Visitation will be held at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park located at 845 Leesburg Road in Columbia on Saturday, March 2nd, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  A graveside service will follow the visitation at 1 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Serenity Gardens.
