Obituary of Margaret Sypult

Margaret "Lucy" Sypult, 75, of Eastover passed away January 28, 2019.  She was born July 1, 1943 to Virgil Lee and Annie Shaw Oliver in Anderson, SC.  Lucy owned and operated "Lucy's Trading Post" for many years. 

She is survived by one son, Thomas and Mary Gosnell; one stepson, James and Jaqueline Sypult; one sister, JoAnn Gosnell; and one niece, Susan and Steve Oliver. She is also survived by special friends, Peggy Mattie, Cathy and Larry Doyle and Maxine Wagstaff.

Preceded her in death are her parents; one brother, Richard W. Oliver; and one sister, Myrtie Rollins.

A gathering for family and friends for Margaret "Lucy” will be Friday, February 1, 2019 from 1PM until 3PM at the Eason Memorial Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow also at the church at 3:00PM. Eason Memorial Baptist Church is located at 201 Vanboken Ave., Eastover, SC 29044.  Pastor David Spears will officiate.  Burial will immediately follow in the church's cemetery. Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Shriner Hospital, or Palmetto Health Hospice.
