Obituary of Ruby Lee Larrimore

Ruby Lee Larrimore was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She cared for her family above all else, providing love and support to each of them. She passed peacefully on January 10, 2019 and is now with her Lord. 

Ruby was born in LaGrange, N.C. on February 12, 1930 to Thurman and Mamie Jones.  She started her career in hospital dietary services at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After relocating to Columbia she continued as a Dietary Supervisor at Baptist Hospital and retired in 1991 after 25 years of service.  She was a member of Freewill Baptist Church in Columbia and enjoyed the fellowship as well as planning and catering many of their events.  She liked working in her yard, family gatherings (especially Christmas), and starting up a conversation with anyone wherever she went.

Ruby is predeceased by her parents, her bother Harvey Gene Jones and her beloved grandson Jamie Trippany.  She also lost a newborn son, Philip Darrell, shortly after his birth. She is survived by her daughter, Mickie Kirby; her grandson Christopher Trippany; her great-grandchildren Ashley O'Dell, Caitlin Love, Mackenzie Trippany, Athens Case, Sarah Trippany, Aidan Trippany and eight great-great-grandchildren.  All of us remember her love, her caring and her joyful attitude. Our "crazy old lady" will be deeply missed. 

A private graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park. There will be no visitation or viewing prior to the service.
