Obituary of Bessie Rea Law Cushman

Bessie Rea Law Cushman left this life for Life Eternal on January 16, 2019. Born in Suwannee County Florida in 1922, she was the daughter of Lawrence Edgar Law and Minnie Miller Law. Pre-deceased in 1980 by her husband of 40 years, Lonnie Everett Cushman, she is survived by her daughter, Judi Hiller of Columbia; son Mike Cushman (Erica) of Lake City, Florida; and son Steve Cushman (Sheila) of Lexington. She was the beloved grandmother to eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

For almost 50 years, Bess, as she was lovingly known, was an active member and Sunday School teacher at State Street Baptist Church.  

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019 at State Street Baptist Church, 1420 State Street, Cayce, SC.  Visitation will be on Sunday, January 20. 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC. Memorials may be made to Oliver Gospel Mission in Columbia or Samaritan’s Purse International.  

Hers was a life well-lived as a woman who feared the Lord. Her children rise up and call her blessed!
