Obituary of James Woodrow Spires

James Woodrow Spires, 77, of Cayce passed away Friday, January, 11, 2019. He was born on December 8, 1941 in Swansea, SC to the late Woodrow Wilson Spires and Ruby Lee Martin. He was a hardworking man who owned Blue Ridge Carpet and Floor Covering for over 48 years. He was a caring man that would do anything for anyone and he was loved by everyone. James enjoyed traveling and adventures.

James is survived by five children, Dana Spires McCall, James Woodrow Spires Jr., Tony Farkas, Tara Leigh Price and Sherri Dawn Spires: two sisters, Elma Spires Hendricks and Mary Elizabeth Long; and seven grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Spires Dangerfield and five brothers.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens.
