Obituary of Jack Marvin Burks

Jack Marvin Burks, 85, passed away on January 9th, 2019, after a brief illness.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 12, at the Thompson Funeral home Greenlawn Memorial Park.  The service will be held at the Mausoleum Chapel at 3:30 PM. 

Mr. Burks, a Vietnam Army veteran, retired from the Army in 1973 after serving 20 years of honorable service.  He was a Sergeant First Class in the Infantry.    He is the recipient of two Bronze Stars with Valor. 

Mr. Burks was predeceased by his loving wife, Annemarie Burks; his father, Forest E. Burks; his mother, Cecilia Burks; and his brother, Eugene Burks.  He is survived by daughters, Ramona Linville (Kenny), Judy Simpson (Ron), Jackie Burks, Regina Cowart (AL); son, Billie Joe Burks (Gaye); 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
