Obituary of Betty Jenkins Hulsey

Betty Jenkins Hulsey was called home to the Lord on December 16, 2018; she passed with peace and grace with her family by her side. A memorial service will be held in the mausoleum at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Friday the 28th of December at 2:00 p.m. to celebrate her beautiful life.

Born on November 2, 1933, in Lyons, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Sally Hughes and Joseph Arline Mason. Blessed with generosity of spirit, unfaltering kindness and unwavering faith, Betty never met a stranger. Over the years she served as manager of Saveway as well as Sally Barber and Beauty Supply in Columbia, but to Betty the most important job was that of mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who adored and admired her.

She was predeceased by her eldest child John “Johnny” Lee Jenkins, Jr., and is survived by three children, J. Michael “Mike” Jenkins (Caroline), Deborah “Debbie” Anderson (Jim) and Teresa Brinkley (Chris). Betty is also survived by five grandchildren, Garrett Anderson, Elizabeth Baker (Rocky), Alden Brinkley, Christopher Michael Brinkley and Jessica Huffer (Michael) as well as two great-grandchildren, Ella and Andy Huffer.
