Obituary of Thomas Lee Favor
SFC Thomas Lee Favor, 76, Columbia, SC, was born November 24, 1942 in Calhoun County, SC. He was the son of the late Curtis Goodwine and the late Maggie Rumph Favor. He departed this life on December 10, 2018.
At an early age, he joined Bethel AME Church in St. Matthews, SC. Graduated John Ford High School, Calhoun County, class president of 1963. Soon after, he joined the United States Army and retired after 21 years as an ammunition specialist. After, he also retired from civil work.
He leaves to cherish his fond and loving memories his wife, Princess A. Dawkins Favor; four sisters, Mattie Mae Favor (deceased), Sadie Favor (St. Matthews), Sara Favor (Chicago IL) and Carolyn Favor (St. Matthews SC); two Brothers, Roger Williams-Mary (Columbia, SC) and Allen Favor (deceased); five daughters, Delanie Govan- James (West Columbia, SC), Thomaselle Favor (Columbia, SC), Terri Michel Carter (Virginia Beach, VA), Evonnia Kay Favor (Columbia, SC) and Crystal De Los Santos-Greimen, Sr. (Columbia, SC); two sons, Michael O’Neil Favor (Florida) and Tolan Favor Ferris-Bethanie (Phoenix, AZ); 33 grandchildren; 24.5 great-grandchildren; and loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Bethel AME Church, 410 S Railroad Ave, Saint Matthews, SC 29135. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
