Kenneth M. Kepler, Jr., age 77 passed away peacefully on November 28, 2018. Ken loved telling his jokes but loved his dog “Smokie Joy” more and even preached a sermon about her one Sunday to his congregation. He was compassionate and an inspiration to his community. He was the devoted pastor for Pine Lakes Baptist Church for 34 years and will be dearly missed by all. He loved God and his family.
Ken enjoyed all kinds of concerts and attended each and every one that would allow him to. He also enjoyed all kinds of books and traveling; and he especially loved his travel to Israel and was looking forward to another trip.
He is survived by his wife and soul mate, Lilly, of 38 years; his sister, Mary Kay (Frank); along with his children, Stella (Dale), Anita (Bill), Noe, Ernest, Kevin, Keith and Karen; his grandchildren, Michael, Brittany, Markus, Heather, Kimberly, Megan, Kelsey, Max, Myah, Talia Nyla and Koby; and three great grandchildren, Rylan, Bella and Silas; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Visitation will be held December 2, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Thompson Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, South Carolina. Following the service burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park Serenity Gardens.
