Obituary of Lavinia Lesslie Braswell

Service for Lavinia Lesslie Braswell, 97, will be held 3PM, Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at the Thompson Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC.  The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home one hour prior to the service. 

Mrs. Braswell, wife of the late Paul A. Braswell, Sr., was born August 14, 1921 in Rock Hill, South Carolina.  She was the daughter of James W. and Mary (Gettys) Lesslie.    Lavinia graduated from Rock Hill High School and attended Winthrop College. Mrs. Braswell was a member of Centennial Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Columbia. 

Mrs. Braswell is survived by daughter and son-in-law Elaine B. and Kenny Grotjan, sons and daughters in-law Paul A. “Pat” and Brenda Braswell, Larry A. and Jane Braswell, Arthur D. and Kimber Braswell, and Philip L. Braswell and Kelly Gette; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

The family would like to thank the staff of NHC Parklane for their loving care and attention to Lavinia while she was a resident at the facility.
