Obituary of Sherrell Brown Aaron-Harley
Sherrell Brown Aaron-Harley – West Columbia – A Celebration of Life service for Sherrell Brown Aaron-Harley, 76, of West Columbia, will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, October 15, 2018 at Whaley Street United Methodist Church, 517 Whaley Street, Columbia, SC 29201. Pastors Joe Cal Watson and Rex Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow the service in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM prior to the service at the church. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family.
Mrs. Harley passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018. Born in West Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Curtis William Brown and Ethel Lucille Watson. She was recognized as a Respiratory Therapist “Extraordinaire” by the doctors at both Lexington Medical Center and Lexington Extended Care. Sherrell was a 50+ year member at Whaley Street United Methodist Church.
Sherrell is survived by her loving husband of 2 years, James Mello “Mel” Harley; son, James Michael “Jim” Aaron (Jennifer) of O’Fallon, MO, Stephen “Steve” Todd Aaron of Myrtle Beach; 4 step-children and their families; 4 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Murphy (Joe) of West Columbia, Karen Brown of West Columbia, nieces and nephews and a large and loving extended family, including her beloved dog, Sadie. In addition to her parents, Sherrell was predeceased by her first husband, Willie Reuben “Bill” Aaron; sister, Margaret Burkett.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Whaley Street United Methodist Church.
