Lewis Elmore Williams, Jr.

Columbia - Lewis E. Williams, Jr., 85, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away August 13, 2018. He was born on March 31, 1933 in Rupton, Alabama to the late Lewis and Clare Crawford Williams.

Mr. Williams was a Master Sargent in the United States Army where he retired after almost 30 years of service. Lewis also enjoyed bowling and spending time with his wife and family.

Lewis is survived by his wife, Yuriko Williams; three daughters, Shelia Compo (Arthur), Darleen Williams, and Anita Deans (Donald); a step-daughter, Yuri Kirby (Keith); a sister, Lois Sander; twelve grandchildren; and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by Margaret L. Williams and his daughter, Diane Yon.

The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Park, 2603 Two Notch Rd, Columbia, SC.
