Obituary of Nancy B. Mills

Nancy B. Mills, 94, passed on to be with her Savior on August 8, 2018 in Charlotte, NC.  She was born in Halifax, VA on October 2, 1923, to Joe and Ida Epperson.

She was married to Kenneth Mills for 63 years.  They settled in Columbia, SC in 1960 and enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling and participating in Shriner activities.  Nancy worked as a supervisor with Civilian Personnel at Fort Jackson until her retirement in 1983 and met regularly for lunch with the retirement group.

An active member since 1969, Nancy loved her church, Windsor United Methodist. She especially enjoyed the ministry of the Sarah Circle. She had many friends in the community and added new friends she met at Wildewood Downs Independent Living and Brookdale Carriage Club in Charlotte.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Beverly Moore (Jerry) of Charlotte, NC; son-in-law, Terry Tanneburg (Suzanne) of Seattle, Washington; and grandchildren, Lacey Moore Duskin (Mac) of Charlotte, NC; Chase Tanneburg (Katie) of Las Vegas, NV; Dr. Matt Tanneberg (Nicole) of Scottsdale, AZ and sister-in-law, Marion Epperson of Richmond, VA.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joe Epperson Jr.; husband, Ken Mills and daughter, Terry Tanneberg.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 18, at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, with visitation at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Sarah Circle, Windsor United Methodist Church, 9500 Windsor Lake Blvd., Columbia SC 29223.
