Obituary of Barbara Elizabeth Byars

Barbara Elizabeth Byars, 88, loving wife to Seaborn Woodall Byars passed away the evening of July 16th at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Mrs. Byars was born November 7th, 1929 in Lexington County, SC. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the credit manager at J B White (Belk) and a member of Rosewood Baptist Church where she served on various committees. She volunteered at Palmetto Health Baptist for many years. Affectionately called BB by her grands, she loved spending time with them.

She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years. BB is survived by her children, Barbara Lucas (Barry) and Carol Byars, both of Columbia; four grandchildren, Jason Giovannone (Michelle), Jennifer Andrade (Austin), Melody Lucas and April Lucas; and 6 great grandchildren, Elijah Drake Giovannone, Ashton Woodall Andrade, Gabriella Holland Giovannone, Sophia Elizabeth Brock Andrade, Bailey Delyn McGlaughlin and Cameron Leanne McGlaughlin.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Byars will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 12 noon. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Byars will be buried at Greenlawn Memorial Park Serenity Gardens.
