Obituary of Rose L. Hayden
West Columbia—Rose went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 5, 2018. She was born March 23, 1942 to the late Luther and Ruby Williams Pound and grew up in Orangeburg, SC. Rose was retired from NCR and Solectron. She was a member of Airport Baptist Church where she served in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and the Choir. She loved attending gospel singings every Saturday night with her friends. She loved to talk, so she never met a stranger and was always a fun person to be around. She loved her flowers, working in her yard, and Gamecock football.
She is survived by her sons; William “Bill” Morgan (Carol) and Jimmy E. Hayden, Jr. both of West Columbia; step daughter, Robin Miller of Batesburg; grandchildren, Michael Nicewonger (Christina), Heather Morgan, and Bryce Hayden; great grandchild, Tara Nicewonger; a sister-in-law, Katrina Pound; and nieces.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the love and care she received from Dr. Stan McCloy, All Season’s Hospice, and the staff at Jenni Lynn Assisted Living, and special friend Mary Ann Cassidy.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 3-4 PM at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. A funeral service will be held 4 PM following the visitation in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Rose to Jenni Lynn Assisted Living 915 Hook Ave West Columbia, 29169.
