Obituary of Berneice S. Gilliam

Berneice S.Gilliam, 89, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away July 5, 2018 at Palmetto Health Richland where she was under hospice care. She was visited by her dear friends, family, and pastor during her short stay in the hospital. Mrs. Gilliam was a long time employee of the IRS. She was a lovely southern lady with a ready smile and impeccable manners.

Berneice is survived by three nephews, James Gilliam (Dorothea), Conrad Gilliam (Laura), and William Gilliam (Kathleen) and three nieces, Ann Swope (Steve), Jean Salley Anderson, and Reid Glaze (Dargan).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Fant “Buddy” Gilliam; her parents, Clifton and Carrie Stanton; and a brother, Hawkins Stanton.

The family will receive friends in the mausoleum of Greenlawn Memorial Park on Monday, July 9, 2018 from 1 - 2 pm with a funeral service following at 2 pm. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum.
