My Mother, Collis Hornsby and Mattie Ransom were best friends. When she became a widow, Mattie spent many hours at our house on Gregg St. The Ransom house was within walking distance of our house. I can't begin to tell you how many photos I have with Mattie included in whatever we were doing. I remember when your Edisto house was built.(My house at Edisto is on Catherine and Jungle Rd). Several times, Mattie went with us to Edisto, and on one occasion, she took my Mother and me to see the beginnings of your family beach house.
My love for growing plants came from Mattie. She gave me some of her prized Irises. I have moved several times, but each time, I have taken samples of her Iris. To this day, I enjoy the beautiful blossoms and think of Mattie.
I am not quiet sure that I can be at Camille's memorial service, but I would very much like to share some stories with you....as well as some of Mattie's Iris.
My cell phone # is 803-603-1782. Home # is 803-808-0468
I will be at Edisto next week and will be thinking of your family and your loss.

Condolences to the family. Even though we moved to Lake Murray in the early 70's from Meadowfield I remember your father and other neighborhood Dadsgetting together to have a few laughs I know he will be missed by you all.
