Obituary of John P. Dangerfield

John (Johnnie) P. Dangerfield passed away Friday, February 12, 2021.  He was born June 8, 1930 to the late Ansel and Rosa (Dykes) Dangerfield.

Mr. Dangerfield affectionately known as “Pa” is survived by his sons, Joel (Rebecca) and Curtis; brother Richard (Frances); grandchildren, Andrew, Benjamin (Paige) and Jonathan (Alana); and greatgrandchildren, Jacob, Iroh, Whitley, and Delaney, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mr. Dangerfield served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict.  In 1960 Johnnie became co-owner of local business, Dick’s Brake Shop that he and his brother, Dick, operated for fifty years.  He loved fishing, walking on the riverfront and was an avid NASCAR racing fan.  Johnnie was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Services will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC with burial to follow in Southland Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at the funeral home.

The family extends gratitude to the LMC staff.  Memorial contributions may be made in Johnnie’s honor to your favorite charity.
