I remember Aunt Gaynell LOVED Elvis, Chuck Norris and she had me believing that Joe Namath was my uncle. We had coke and peanuts and singing Christmas songs in the back of a green station wagon that had "Just gotten married" on it. She took us to drive-in's and she was just funny in everything she did and I will always love her. I know she loved all her nieces and nephews because she took the time and had fun with us. I will miss talking with her about a lot of things. I love you and will miss you, Aunt Gaynell, and I will think about you everyday, that is how much you had an impact on my life. Love you always, Shannon Frost

Mama ( pat Blake sharpe) wanted everyone to know how special her cousin Gaynell was. She has such fond memories of the time they spent together growing up then later at the fish frys and talking about Elvis. She was loved very much and will be missed.

Working for many years with Gay at DHEC and when she helped Bruce Livingston and me with our bowling tournaments while traveling weekends thru SC, NC and GA let me know and understand what a fine person she was. I have so many great memories of our times together. I will truly miss Gay but am so happy that she was in my life for all these years. I know she will be missed by many. Rest In Peace dear friend. Gaynell was one of the sweetest people you would ever want to know. She saw the good in everybody. Her biggest memory was to be in the grocery store shopping and to go out and find out that she had moved the car to a different location in the parking lot. Lots and lots of memories of sitting at the kitchen table at Christmas cutting up vegetable to make Christmas dinner. She had and entire family of children, because she took all the nieces and nephews everywhere and she left a little bit of herself in each one of them. She took them to wrestling, movies, out to eat, Barnes and Noble and did what ever they wanted to do. She spend a lot of hours with all of our children and I know that my son and grandchildren have done nothing but talk about all the things that Aunt Gaynell did with them and for them. I can't say enough about her, she was a one of a kind treasure.. you were a very compassionate, generous, loving and caring person. You will be missed by a lot of people.

I went to see my first drive in movie and theater movie with my aunt Gaynell, I never knew Elvis could make so many movies, lol. She taught me how to play cards amongst other things. Oh and who will ever forget finger bread! She was a good woman and will surely be missed!!!

My aunt was like a second mom to me whether it was talking in different languages in the grocery store to embarrass us lol or snipe hunting with my friends in high school. She has always had a special place with me. She will always be in my life, heart, and soul.
