Obituary of Willa Oakley

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 PM on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia for Willa Davis Oakley, 91, who passed away on June 24, 2015. Mrs. Oakley was born on March 8, 1924 in Lysite, Wyoming to Edward and Amanda Brown Davis. Mrs. Oakley graduated from University of Wyoming in 1946 with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She was involved in nuclear research at Hanford Nuclear Site in Washington State and General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas. She loved square dancing, gardening, and sewing. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Royal Oakley and her four siblings. Survivors include her daughter, Kim Oakley Masters, Cayce and her grandson, James Davis Masters, Cayce. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Willa Davis Oakley to Pi Beta Phi Foundation, 1154 Town and Country Commons, Town and Country, Missouri 63017 or Agape Foundation, 2705 Leaphart Rd, West Columbia, SC 29169.
