Obituary of Sarah Cockrell Grosjean

Sarah C. Grosjean, 83, of West Columbia passed away July 16, 2015. She was born in McCormick, SC to the late James William Shannon and Nancy Bowick Shannon. Sarah graduated in the first graduating class of Greenwood High School. She was very involved with her church and loved being an Air Force wife for 22 years. She retired from National Linen Services after 22 years of employment. Sarah loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sarah is survived by her sons, Edward K. Cockrell (Barbara) of York, SC, Joseph L. Cockrell (Denise) of Fairbanks, AK, and John R. Cockrell of Fairbanks, AK; daughter, Shanna Lynn Craft (Randy) of Winnsboro, SC and the late William A. Cockrell. She also leaves her sister, Kate Gable of Greenwood, SC; and her brother, J. Douglas Shannon (Margaret) of Greenwood, SC; and step children, Patty and her late husband Dale Grosjean of Lexington, Bobbie Ann Printz (Marty) of Lexington, the late Mark Grosjean (Ruthie) of Lexington, Greg Grosjean and his wife of Michigan. She also is survived by her loving grandchildren and great children and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph W. Cockrell and Robert I. Grosjean. The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 6:00PM - 8:00PM. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at 2PM at Congaree Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Congaree Baptist Church Cemetery.
