Obituary of Linda Smith Branch

Linda Smith Branch, 50 of West Columbia, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 1, 2015. She was born in Fayetteville, NC Linda graduated Spring Valley High School in 1982. She then attended USC where she obtained her BS in Science and Mathematics. She was employed by the Budget Control Board of SC, in SCEIS Group from 1988-present. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Columbia and had taught the Girls in Action (GA's). She loved her church family and her Sunday School class. She was also involved with the Lydia Project Breast Cancer support group. She will be missed dearly by her family and many friends she made throughout her beautiful life. Linda is survived by her loving husband of 10 years, Michael Branch of West Columbia; her mother, Betty Reisch Smith of Columbia; her daughters, Savannah Sheppard of West Columbia and Rebecca (Jason) Canfield of West Columbia. She is also survived by her sister, Barbie (Mark) Pate of Columbia; and her brother, John Smith of Columbia. She is also survived by 6 loving grandchildren, Daylon, Reign, Adrianna, Elizabeth, Tristan and Gabriel. She was preceded in death by her father, Willie O. Smith. The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church of Columbia on Hampton Street on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens.
