Obituary of Benny Smith

EASTOVER-Mr. Benny Smith, 67, of Eastover, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 6, 2015. Mr. Smith was born in Caryville, TN to Mrs. Bettie Smith and the late Harold D. Smith. Benny retired from dutiful service as a First Sgt. in the US Army. In addition to his father, Mr. Smith was predeceased by his son, Charles Clifton Smith; and his brother, Harold D. Smith, Jr. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Linda; mother, Bettie Smith; sister, Barbara (Michael) Smith; niece and nephew, Jill and Eric Brown; Aunts, Margie Silcox and Doris Richards; a great niece and nephew and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will celebrate his life at a memorial service on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Elon Baptist Church, 718 Mt. Elon Church Rd., Hopkins, SC with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Elon Baptist Church. Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park is assisting the family.
