Obituary of LaCrecia Slone Taylor

LaCrecia Slone Taylor, 75, of West Columbia, South Carolina passed away peacefully with her husband and family by her side on August 14, 2015. She was born in Hindman, Kentucky to the late McDonald and Manda Sparkman Slone. LaCrecia graduated from Columbia Business College and was co-owner of Taylor Furniture Co. and recently worked as a secretary at the Furniture Barn. She loved her time with her grandchildren, the beach and family events. She devoted her time with the Trinity UMC as a secretary for years, enjoying every moment. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. LaCrecia is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Morris H. Taylor of West Columbia; her sister, Gladys Lee S. (James) Vanderpool of OH; as well as her daughter in law, Keitha King of TN. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild and two nieces. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Todd S. Taylor; stepson, Morris H. Taylor, II; her sisters, Veneda S. Emmons, Maxine S. Simmons; and her brother, Forest Slone. The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington on Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 4-6PM. Funeral services will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on Mohawk Drive on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 2PM. Interment will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens.
