Obituary of Hilda Rose Cunningham

Hilda Rose Cunningham, 91, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away August 28, 2015 at Life Care Center of Columbia, in Columbia, South Carolina. She was born on October 15, 1923 in Heilbronn, Germany to the late Joseph and Maria Hörlien. Hilda was a strong and feisty woman. She would tell you exactly how it was. Hilda was meticulous about her yard and loved to have everything neat and clean. She would often get the help of the children to help her pick up the pine cones. Hilda was a good cook. She would make German food for the family and had an amazing recipe for chicken noodle soup. Hilda loved to dance and enjoyed classic country music. She was also a great joke teller. The smiles and laughs she brought will not be forgotten. Hilda is survived by her daughters; Hannelore Theriot of Columbia, SC, Sandra Cunningham of Hopkins, SC, her sons; Werner Kuhn, of Germany and Peter Kuhn (Sieglinde) also of Germany, grandchildren; Leslie Wilson, Kayla Wilson, Alexander Kuhn, Anita Kuhn, Marcus Kuhn and Michael Kuhn. She also leaves behind many other family members. The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. Funeral services will follow the visitation in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be private.
